Lambert Smith Hampton has been appointed to lead an urban planning exercise in the Claremont area of Blackpool. The project is as a result of funding from Homes England to deliver community-led regeneration options including the creation of housing in the area.

Appointed by Blackpool Council but led by The Magic Club, LSH is supported by masterplanner LDA Design.

The Magic Club is a charitable organisation working with young people aged 8-16 in the Claremont area around Blackpool North station. The organisation's vision is for every young person in Claremont to reach their full potential through the provision of activities, training, support and opportunities.

The project focuses on working with young people, local residents and professional stakeholders through a series of workshops during a ‘masterplanning week' to generate regeneration proposals. By working with the local community, the team will produce options for the sustainable regeneration of Claremont; meeting both the needs of today, and tomorrow – subject to further funding being available.

"This community-led project seeks to tackle some of the long-standing issues that face this important community within the inner area of Blackpool, enhancing local pride while providing an action plan. The masterplan is focusing on input from the community's younger generations to design and influence the ‘My Claremont' agenda."
