A tough fitness challenge will see more than 50 of the Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) Property Management team cycle, canoe and climb their way round the Lake District next month in order to raise funds for Mind, the national mental health charity.

The inaugural “Bikes, Boats & Boots” event, which is being sponsored by leading independent insurance broker Locktons, will see 13 teams take part in a series of triathlon style contests over one day. This gruelling challenge includes a 10 mile cycle around Lake Ullswater, a rafted 2-canoe course on the lake itself and a circular hike to the spectacular Helvellyn summit.

The teams are hoping to raise in excess of £6,000 for Mind, one of LSH’s official charity partners, with additional fundraising support coming from Locktons, which is also taking part in the event.

Commenting, Paul Brooks, Managing Director Investment, Property & Asset Management at LSH said:

“We’ve had a fantastic response to our first ever Bikes, Boats and Boots event, which is all about our teams getting together, having fun and importantly, raising money for a very significant cause. Within property management, our role extends much further than simply bricks and mortar and we engage with people every day through the commercial and residential buildings we manage. Mind is an incredibly important charity that promotes mental health in a positive way and I’m delighted we are able to support it.”

Bikes, Boats and Boots is taking place on Saturday 14 September.  The event is being organised by LSH, with ground support from outdoor adventure sports specialist The Adventure Element.
