Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has advised property developer and investor Gentian on the acquisition of Three Minsters House, a prominent office building on Winchester High Street, from Hampshire County Council.

Gentian has exchanged unconditional contracts to acquire the 29,041 sq ft property, which comprises basement, ground and three upper floors. Previously occupied by Hampshire County Council as office accommodation.

Situated adjacent to Castle Hill and the Courts complex, Three Minsters House occupies a prominent location in Winchester, adjacent the Law Courts, and close to Gentian's existing offices on Trafalgar Street.

The acquisition represents a significant investment in the city for Gentian, which is currently exploring options for the building's future use, including potential residential conversion or the retention of commercial accommodation.

Andy Hodgkinson, Senior Director and Head of Southampton Office at LSH, commented:

“We are delighted to have advised Gentian on the acquisition of Three Minsters House. This is a prominent building in the heart of Winchester, offering significant potential for repositioning and future investment. Gentian has a strong track record in the city, and we look forward to seeing how its plans for the property develop.”

LSH acted on behalf of Gentian in the acquisition, with Savills representing Hampshire County Council.
