The event, sponsored by Lockton, Ligtas and Swaine Allen Solicitors saw teams climb, abseil, trek, weasel, orienteer, and problem-solve their way through the beautiful Peak District.

‘Race for the Peak’ follows on from last year’s hugely successful ‘The Lake Escape’, which raised money for the mental health charity Mind.

Sophie Wisdom, National Head of Operational Service Lines at LSH, took part in the event and comments:

“This was a really challenging event and everyone who took part should be proud of their efforts, both on the day, and in raising funds for Cancer Research UK. The work that Cancer Research UK do is vital, and I hope that the generous donations we have received will empower them to continue their critical mission. A heartfelt thank you to all our colleagues who joined us, and to our sponsors for their support.”

Jess Allchin, Relationship Manager for Cancer Research UK, said:

"I’d like to thank everybody at LSH who took part in Race for the Peak – for all your hard work and training and for your incredible fundraising!  Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer.  However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication of supporters like Lambert Smith Hampton, without whom we would not be able to fund our vital work.  One in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime.  All of us can support the research that will beat it."
