Alexa Cotterell shortlisted for Achievers Academy for Women 2012 Awards

Alexa Cotterell, Director and Head of Birmingham Building Consultancy, has been shortlisted for the Achievers Academy for Women - 2012 Awards.

Formerly the Network of Aspiring Women, the newly branded Achievers Academy for Women is a membership organisation dedicated to women's development and success.

The sole purpose of the academy is to propel women to even higher levels of achievement. The annual leading women’s dinner recognises and rewards the most talented female business leaders within Birmingham’s business community.

Candidates compete across ten different categories including: Business Owner, Women’s Champion, Property & Construction, Banking & Finance, Leadership in the Community, Young Entrepreneur, and Engineering & Technology. The overall winner is then chosen from the winners of these categories.

Judging panel confirmed

Alexa has been shortlisted to one of five finalists in the Property and Construction Category. The judging panel will be chaired by former Apprentice contestant and Academy leader, Jo Cameron, who will be joined by:

Gill Fielding -  Secret Millionaire and leading businesswoman
Caroline Waters – Director, People & Policy at BT
Lucy Dimes – CEO/President Alcatel-Lucent UK & Ireland & Trustee for Safer London Foundation
Rachel Elnaugh - Dragons Den and leading entrepreneur
Charlotte Sweeney - International Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Nomura International
Penny Mallory - Champion Rally Driver, Inspirational Speaker

Winners to be announced at forthcoming ceremony

The winners of the categories, and overall winner of the Achievers Academy for Women 2012 title will be announced at the awards ceremony and dinner on Friday 9 November.

Head of the Region, Ian Kibble said: "This is a fantastic achievement by Alexa and we wish her all the very best as the judging progresses."
