Before joining LSH, Tim worked within the planning and estates department of a national brick manufacturer, which formed part of the Planning and Property Development sandwich degree he completed at Nottingham Trent University.
After graduating in 2007, Tim joined LSH and has since been building on his experience for the APC, which he sits at the end of 2009.
Tim said: "The benefit of working at a company like LSH is the sheer variety of work that you are able to get involved with, and since joining I have rotated into three different departments within the Birmingham office. The departments I have been involved with include Valuation, Agency and finally planning and development. In getting a variety of experience, this will hopefully stand me in good stead for the APC later in the year."
Within each of these departments, Tim has been involved in a variety of projects including a number of high profile projects within the region. He particularly enjoy being involved with the larger development projects which made a difference to the towns and cities in which they are located.
Tim said: "Despite its size, the company also has a very close knit feel, with everyone willing to help each other. I plan to continue within the planning and development side of the industry once completing the APC, as has been my intention since leaving university, and the work that I have been involved with at LSH in this area has only affirmed my desire to do this.
Outside of the office, the industry benefits from having a great social scene, with a number of events throughout the year offering the opportunity to meet other surveyors and have a few relaxed beers. LSH also hosts the ‘LSH Ski Challenge’ every year in Courmayeur, Italy, which, having been myself in 2008, provides another great opportunity to get in some snowboarding and the opportunity to socialise with both clients and colleagues.
LSH is a great place to work and the company is extremely supportive of graduates aiming to complete their APC. All being well, I should hopefully get those elusive MRICS letters in the not too distant future, after which I will be wanting to progress onwards and upwards, with the sky being the limit within the property sector."
