Graduate profile - Claire Stevenson

Claire joined Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) in 2004 as a secretary in the London Retail Agency Team. A few months later LSH funded a two year part time Postgraduate Degree in Estate Management at Southbank University.

This was a day release course and it enabled Claire to combine her experiences of working at LSH with her studies which gave a good grounding for a successful career in surveying.

In 2005 Claire started on the graduate rotation scheme within LSH and having completed her Postgraduate Degree, she went on to complete her APC two years later.

Post-qualification, Claire chose to work in the Lease Advisory Department where she has been given increased levels of responsibility in undertaking rent reviews, lease renewals and re-gears for both landlord and tenant clients.

The level of support offered by colleagues has enabled Claire to progress quickly and she has run a number of rent reviews to third parties with very successful outcomes for clients. The day to day client contact is an essential part of the job and has enabled her to form strong client relationships.

Claire's unconventional route onto the graduate scheme demonstrates that LSH is a big promoter of career progression and will reward determined people with a drive to succeed.
