Eighteen teams from businesses along the south coast took part in the second annual South Coast Touch Rugby tournament, organised by Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH). The event, which took place at Trojans Sports Club, north of Southampton, on Friday 8 June, raised nearly £3,000 for Wessex Cancer Trust, thanks to generous sponsorship from ROK Developments, The Southern Daily Echo and LSH, as well as entry fees from all participants.
The teams were made up of seven property agencies, seven solicitors, three development firms and a recruitment company. All teams had to have at least one female, and “girl” tries counted as double!
Graham Holland, Director at LSH’s Southampton office, said: “We were very grateful for the weather – which stayed glorious from beginning to end. The competition was fast and, at times, furious, and a great day was had by all.”
Last year’s winners, Goadsby, were beaten three tries to one in the semi-final by Lambert Smith Hampton, who in turn were beaten in the final by a very competitive Lainstonians team from Lainston Homes.
