Formerly the Network of Aspiring Women, the newly branded Achievers Academy for Women is a membership organisation dedicated to women's development and success. The sole purpose of the academy is to propel women to even higher levels of achievement. The annual leading women’s dinner recognises and rewards the most talented female business leaders within Birmingham’s business community.
Candidates compete across ten different categories: Business Owner, Women’s Champion, Property & Construction, Banking & Finance, Leadership in the Community, Young Entrepreneur, Corporate Leader, Engineering & Technology, Networks, and Achiever Academy Woman of the Year. The overall winner is then chosen from the winners of these categories.
Director in our Birmingham office, Alexa Cotterell, has beaten off competition from across the city to be shortlisted to one of five finalists in the Property and Construction Category.
The judging panel will be chaired by former Apprentice contestant and Academy leader, Jo Cameron, who will be joined by:
Gill Fielding - Secret Millionaire and leading businesswoman
Caroline Waters – Director, People & Policy at BT
Lucy Dimes – CEO/President Alcatel-Lucent UK & Ireland & Trustee for Safer London Foundation
Rachel Elnaugh - Dragons Den and leading entrepreneur
Charlotte Sweeney - International Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Nomura International
Penny Mallory - Champion Rally Driver, Inspirational Speaker
The winners of the categories, and overall winner of the Achievers Academy for Women 2012 title will be announced at the awards ceremony. Sponsors include Birmingham City Council and Aston Business School.
